Jennifer Horn: I’m The only Candidate who can beat Paul Hodes

NASHUA – Jennifer Horn, newspaper columnist and radio host, welcomed State Senator Bob Clegg to the race for 2nd Congressional District. Horn issued the following statement:

“I welcome Bob Clegg to the race and I look forward to a spirited campaign about the issues we are facing here in the 2^nd District. New Hampshire wins when we have an open and honest discussion about the issues that are important to the voters.

While I respect Bob Clegg and his service to New Hampshire, with over 16 years as a political insider, he is not the right man for this job.   There are enough career politicians in Washington. People are demanding change and that starts with sending someone different to Washington.

I entered this race to renew the spirit of America. I believe that government has become too big and too corrupt. We know that smaller government is good government. We need to make sure that working families keep more of their hard earned paychecks - that means keeping taxes low and cutting wasteful government spending. We need real immigration reform that protects America and does not reward illegal behavior. We need to make sure that our troops get the equipment they need, and when they return home, they get the medical care they deserve. 

As I travel the district, I hear over and over again that it is time to end business as usual in Washington. People are tired of the backroom politicking of lawyers and professional politicians who feel more accountable to lobbyists than to their neighbors at home. 

Two years ago voters gave Paul Hodes a chance. They sent him on a mission to change Washington. Instead, Washington changed Paul Hodes. He campaigned on bringing greater transparency to government, and yet he is unwilling to disclose how much of the voter’s money he spent on franked mailings. Voters will not stand for a politician who says one thing to get elected and then does something else when in Washington.

Another career politician can’t beat Paul Hodes. Voters are not going to substitute one politician for another. The voters are demanding more. They want a citizen legislator who will actually represent the people. I am the only candidate who can beat Paul Hodes in November.

Everywhere across the 2^nd District people are filled with the hope of what we can achieve when we return the government back to the people. With their support, we will restore people’s faith in our Representatives and renew the promise that is America.”
