Horn jumps in
Conservative radio host and Nashua Telegraph columnist Jennifer Horn has entered the Republican race for a chance to unseat Democrat Paul Hodes, the Second District congressman, next fall.
Horn, who has never run for office before, will face a competitive primary: Concord attorney Jim Steiner has already launched a run, and others have flirted.
For now, Horn said she's keeping her focus on Hodes and plans to focus on trust and spending. Horn, a mother of five, said she thinks voters want to see a different kind of candidate on the ballot.
"We've tried lawyers, we've tried lifetime politicians, we've tried people who've spent their whole lives getting ready to take on the next level of power," she said.
She's put her radio show and column on hold and will hold her first fundraiser Feb. 5 at her home.
