Jennifer Horn s Statement on the Health Care Summit

NASHUA - Jennifer Horn, Republican Candidate for Congress, issued the following statement following the Health care Summit.  

"There is a fundamental difference in principle between what the Democratic majority is offering and what the American people are looking for.  It is time to shred this wasteful, ineffective, corrupting legislation and start from scratch with the voice of the American people as our guide.  Health insurance can be made more affordable and more accessible WITHOUT a trillion dollar debt, WITHOUT losing millions of jobs and WITHOUT government control of the health care system.  We must start from scratch and do it right.
 
This summit has become nothing more than a political tool to paint the Republican Party as obstructionist in order to move towards reconciliation.  The tone of this political theater reflects exactly why 71% of the American people now believe that Congress is doing a poor job.
 
From the President’s interrupting of Republican Senators with snide comments about who won the presidential election to Nancy Pelosi’s wildly inaccurate statement that this is actually a “jobs bill”  this has become one more Congressional exercise in arrogance and deceit.

The American people have made it clear that this is not the reform they are looking for, and yet this President and this Congress remain dedicated to pushing it through “no matter what.”  
 
This is exactly  why we need to fire the career politicians and Washington insiders in November and send real representatives of the people."
