There is no single issue more challenging to America's future than the Global War on Terror.
We must keep our commitment to stabilization, democracy and economic growth in Iraq, but Iraq is only one front in the Global War on Terror. Afghanistan lacks a strong economic base upon which to build and continues to provide financing and safe haven to terrorists. Both Syria and Iran continue to create turmoil in the Middle East and provide a safe haven for terrorists.
To win, we need to look at the Middle East in 3 parts: 1) nations in the region; 2) the Global Society and 3) America’s security and interests. America must set the tone globally that terrorism will not be ignored - through diplomacy, strong sanctions and military strength.
Congress must show leadership to the nation by supporting the efforts of the U.S. to fight terrorism and spread freedom and democracy.
