Jennifer Walks 26.2 in Avon Walk for Breast Cancer
Jennifer took time away from the campaign this weekend to walk 26.2 miles in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.
Jennifer said, "I have been supporting the Avon Foundation's programs for breast cancer research for nearly ten years.
This disease has touched so many families throughout the 2nd District, including my own. Unfortunately, after a valiant fight of almost fifteen years, my cousin recently lost her battle against breast cancer. It is a heart-breaking loss that only strengthens my resolve to do whatever I can to further the effort for a cure.”
“Every three minutes another woman in the United States is diagnosed with breast cancer. We have seen such encouraging advancements in breast cancer research and treatments over the past several years - I am confident that we are on our way to a cure.
Between training and the official walks, I have walked thousands of miles over the years for this cause. One thing I have learned is that when good people come together to fight what is right, they can change the world. I will remain engaged in this fight until a cure is found."
This was Jennifer's eighth Avon walk.
